At our recent leadership meeting, Dave Hulley stepped down as the chairman of the board of Stoneworks. Dave is a founding board member, has been the chairman for over 11 years, and also served as the Executive Director for our first 5 years. Dave will continue as a member of the board, continuing to give his advice and leadership in many ways. As he makes this transition, we are VERY thankful for his years of service. God has been good to all of us through Dave’s gifts and presence.

lar-helLarry Heller (left) has accepted the board’s invitation to serve as the new chairman. Larry first visited Russia in 1999, as part of a short-term mission team to children’s summer camp. The next year he began making winter visits to the children’s homes to advance those relationships. Now in his 16th year, Larry continues to return to Russia and also to Belarus twice a year to serve children as father, godfather, mentor, supporter, life coach, prayer warrior and friend.

Between 2001 and 2005 Larry and his wife Kim, already parents of two boys, adopted three Russian children. In July, Larry & Kim will celebrate 33 years of marriage.

Larry served for six years on the Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Cultural Exchange and Charity Foundation “MIR” before joining the Stoneworks International Board of Directors in 2011. He continues to serve as the coordinator of short-term missions to Russia for the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, TX.

Stoneworks is also moving our mailing address to San Antonio, TX. Donations will be processed there while Mary Jean Preece will continue to serve as our bookkeeper and clerk in Georgia. The new address and donation information are on our Support page.

This year we’ll send our first team to Moldova and will build connections in Romania and Slovakia. Times of change are very often times of growth and new opportunity. We look forward to seeing what doors the Lord opens.
