I have been silent for a while, but that was due to my struggle against Covid-19. On the same day (July 23rd) we did the food distribution in the refugee camp in Berane and had the first house church meeting there, I’d felt the first symptoms. At first I thought it was due to fatigue, but as the symptoms persisted the next day, I placed myself in isolation and the struggle began.
There is a lot we do not know about this virus, which I learned from my own experience. The first two corona tests (blood tests) were negative, but as the symptoms were getting worse, I did the third one – PCR test (sample from nose and throat) – which turned positive. However, by the time I was “officially positive” the illness was getting easier. Nevertheless, I’d spent three full weeks in isolation, which basically means that I stayed by myself in a ministry flat. I was released from isolation on August 14.
However, I will say that I am still on the recovery path. I still feel weaker than usual and get chills from time to time, so I am still not running in my full capacity. As you can imagine, due to my condition, we had to cancel a few things and some things got cancelled on us. Altogether, this summer was quite quiet and unusually slow.
This is to say that there is not much I can share with you apart from announcing a new partnership with Dutch based Christian Roma Support – CRS is a foundation that supports many local Roma ministries all over Eastern Europe. In the last two years we have done a couple of projects with the help of CRS, but as of last month, we have established a way to receive donations through CRS. This may be relevant for those of you who are based in Europe, because with this new setting, donating from Europe gets cheaper and quicker. So, to donate to our European CRS based account, please use the following: Bank Account: NL51 INGB 0007 9979 16 BIC: INGBNL2A
Anyway, our plan is to catch up with things that we had to postpone while I was sick and the first one is an outreach in Ulcinj, a town on south coast of Montenegro. Lord willing, we will go there soon, so I ask for your prayer covering. Ulcinj is an Islamic stronghold (almost 80% of population are Muslims) and a home of around 200 Roma-Ashkali/Egyptians, scattered in 3 different locations. Our plan is to visit all 3, preach and distribute Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes to the children. Please pray for all the preparations, logistics and planning to be inspired by His and not our wisdom.
- Pray that the Lord prepares the hearts of those we will meet.
- Pray for the Word to be genuine, Spirit-filled, spoken in love and authority.
- Pray for open and receiving hearts of those who listen.
Please see photos of the outreaches/food distributions we’ve organized. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to buy food parcels for the people in two Roma-Ashkali/Egyptian communities in towns Pljevlja and Berane and preach the Word to their people.
May the grace and mercy of our Father in Heaven shine upon you.
In His service,
