Praise the Lord, we have had great time with teens in a camp Elama!
Elama means “life” in Finish language and we have seen God’s life during those 10 days in a camp. We combined our efforts with MIR staff and Teen Mania ministry from US to make a camp for teens from dysfunctional families.
The main goal of our camp was to introduce young people to Jesus Christ, to show them Bible principals and how to apply them to their daily life. Also they were taught how to become united and work as one team, accomplishing different tasks.
It was very good that each team had US teenagers who was showing great example of reliable servant of Christ, what
really helped Russian youth to follow. Together they were helping cleaning up the camp territory, mowing grass, building a dock on a lake. Young people were taking shifts to help on a kitchen. One day they were making supper themselves. Many of them had this kind of experiences first time in their life.
Daily teens had personal quiet time with God, praying and studying His word. After breakfast we were gathering them in small groups for discussions on various topics.
During the day kids did hiking, playing fun active games, doing crafts. In the evening we had worship time and sermon.
If we describe the atmosphere of the camp, it can be done with a few words: God’s presence, joy, friendship, and adventure.
During this camp several teens gave their lives to Christ, and now their live is going to be a great adventure with God!
The good relationships were built and we are going to continue them in St.Petersburg.
We were so pleased to see God’s people at work in this camp! Thank you very much for your prayers and all support in different ways!
Please pray for the next camp that God’s Word will be installed and confirmed in the hearts of children.
